Dry acne prone skin may be heredity, related to the diet or to the time of year. Wintertime makes it more difficult to provide your skin with good care. Dry acne prone skin will require more gentle treatment in the winter months. Cold weather and win takes a lot of the moisture out of our skin. If you are already using some sort of acne-fighting medicine for skin care, dry acne prone skin will become twice as dry.
The type of cleansing you give your skin can play a large part in whether it's oily, dry or acne prone. While the cleanser you use on your face in the summer may work well for your face in the summer, it may not work as well in the winter. Although for years people believed that acne was caused by oily, skin it can just as easily come from dry skin. Unfortunately, some individuals are more prone to develop acne than others are.
Care for dry acne prone skin doesn't need to be something that takes up a lot of your time. It also doesn't have to be a real expensive process. Years ago, it was always assumed that if a teenage age chocolate or greasy foods, they would get pimples and acne. If they had pimples, it was assumed they ate chocolate or greasy foods.
